The Community Context: Learnings from Samaritans Ireland
As we are confronted with COVID-19 and what are worrying times, the support provided by the community and voluntary sector has never been more important. This new way of living and the uncertainty we face will naturally give rise to challenging feelings and many of our members and community organisations have been doing incredible work to provide people with emotional support during this time.
The Samaritans are one such organisation and they have partnered with Ulster University to better understand the change in the number and nature of their callers during this crisis.
In this episode, we are joined by special guest speakers:
– Maurice Mulvenna from Ulster University;
– Ciaran Moore from Samaritans Ireland; and
– Louise Hamra from Samaritans Ireland.
